Introduction

My name is Matthew Borrelli and I am a senior majoring in Design and Creative Technology at The College of New Jersey. I am interested primarily in game programming and interactive storytelling. The following thesis project is a story I’ve begun writing and am passionate about, manifested in a playable format. It is in its early stages and I anticipate adding on and building a complete visual version of the story world in the future!

About the Game

Kione lives on a humble farm with his mother. On a quiet afternoon, a large pillar of ice forms in the distance and a bitter chill runs across the land, freezing everyone to solid ice. However, Kione inexplicably thaws out and harnesses the power of the ice. With little guidance, he heads for the pillar in search of answers and with the hope of bringing his mother back.

The first stop is the nearby forest to the West, now overrun with monstruous slimes!

Utilizing Unity as a platform to make professional and presentable games is not brand new, but Unity can be used to develop more powerful and exciting games for emerging designers and developers. Professional studios use other engines but students like myself can utilize Unity to produce original games.
