Society, Technology, and Psychology

Senior thesis 2022

Synopsis

This schema approaches a post pandemic paradigm of societal shifts in technology, education, and psychology.

Initial thematic approach

After conducting multiple IDIs and referencing journals, I noticed a correlation between technology and the adjustments it provides to our post pandemic society. As we shift into a digital divide, an educational “catch up”, and a wave of mental health issues—society seeks answers in technology and education.

On my way to discovering IMM, Interactive Multi Media, I had published a United Nations recognized paper, conducted bacterial lab research, and worked in a hospital under endocrinology and pharmacology. Then I worked in Campus Planning under an Architect for a Biological research restoration. This interdisciplinary field made me question education and the lack of niche multidisciplinary courses. From there, I enrolled in free MIT & CMU labs and courses which fueled my interests; Human Computer Interaction, Python, User Experience. I discovered resources like AIGA, UXPA, and soon… I found a group of likeminded individuals. With those peers, we founded a technology fraternity on campus and started an activist group to change the curriculum of my township, and much more!

I now work in the Maker Space as a student technician, the Art Gallery at TCNJ, and at the Sarnoff Collection Museum in Roscoe West.

I have a passion for solving problems with design and education.

“Smart listening hears the story as a potential hermaion, a lucky find a gift that will require working with but can bring riches. Having heard a story, retelling it in the right place at the right time and especially to the right people also requires luck that can be smart or dumb; that right occasion of telling is another hermaion.”
